Another feature idea: a count of the number of balloons aloft? Maybe also a count of balloons within an X mile radius of your location?

That is a great idea, I was thinking about adding something like that to the web site too...
To give you an idea, there have been 590 balloons launched since 2pm UK time today!

I caught the first ever balloon launched earlier (or so it claimed). Another thought would be some kind of badge/ achievement system to have that lets you pass viral content with balloons. Maybe like a badge you can add to a post that the next recipient can take and use a set number of times?

I think that could have been my balloon! So far 5300 launches and rising...
Sounds an interesting idea re.badges could you give a little more detail on how you see it working?

MemberWell I can think of a couple of possibilities that might be fun:
-A sticker-like thing. When you catch a balloon with the sticker attached, you're given a number of the same sticker (3? 5?) that you can then use to tag other balloons in the future. They could be holiday themed, current events themed, geography themed, whatever.
-Some way to be recognized as having caught a special balloon, like the achievements system in video games. Maybe when people get a balloon that you've commented on, they can tap your name to see the achievements you've collected (caught special balloons, had a balloon get commented on more than 20 times before it popped, caught a balloon from every continent, etc.)

Thanks for these ideas. Achievements is certainly something we're looking into as it would add a fun new dimension to the game. Potentially the sticker idea could be morphed into a balloon theme idea - different types of balloons for different themes? We'll add these ideas into a pot - thanks for the input!
